The autobiography of Bastiaan Broere (1823-1907), an oyster fisherman from Yerseke, the Netherlands. 
Attempting to escape the oppressiveness of the Seceders, he emigrated to America in 1849, where he hoped to find success and freedom. Broere found himself in difficult circumstances many times, but each time the Lord sent deliverance at unexpected times and in unexpected ways.
